There is special providence in the fall of a sparrow. If it be now, ‘tis not to come; if it be not to come, it will be now; if it be not now, yet it will come- the readiness is all. Since no man, of aught he leaves, knows what is’t to leave betimes, let be.”

Hamlet V.ii.219-224

“But of that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.”

Mark 13:32

As a providential literary achievement, this blog must, of necessity, have a providential ending. The revolution in personal narrative and fictional realism that was Courage changed many lives, altered the way that Americans view the narrative art, and occasionally let slip the surly bonds of obscurity to influence the face of politics.

Many others have attempted to emulate its style, but few have succeeded. Those who have managed to incorporate the hallmark creativity, passion, and incisive writing of Courage include the titans of the journalistic and literary universe. The triumph of Courage has indeed been the triumph of America.

Despite detractors, disparagers, poetasters, and others peddling tendentious small-mindedness, Courage won victory in the public sphere as well as winning the hearts, minds, and souls of most Americans.

Fame bestows itself on very few in the race toward lasting posterity. Friend and foe can both heartily agree that Courage has won secular immortality through its vast accomplishments and through its place as a pervasive, guiding example for this nation.

God Bless America
